Mend With Friends
Mend with Friends (@mendwithfriendshtx) is a Houston-based sewing club, facilitated by artists Autumn McIlraith and Naomi Kuo, a current BOX 13 member. The purpose of the group is to encourage people to extend the lives of their clothes and other textile items through practical and creative mending. The group is also about building community around sustainability and skill sharing. Folks of all sewing skill levels are welcome!
Mend with Friends meets approximately every two months at BOX 13 on Saturday mornings, 10 AM-12 PM (dates TBA). These will include an hour-long workshop on specific topics and techniques as well as time for folks to work on their own mending projects in a casual, social and collaborative setting. Check out their Instagram page for updated information!
