Artist Bio
Houston born artist, Peter Broz, has been a member of BOX 13 since December 2020. Peter has always had a found fondness for drawing since a very young age. Peter’s works are primarily 2-dimensional, in a variety of materials such as acrylic, ink, pencil, colored pencil, oil, watercolors and most recently digital art.
Peter Broz graduated from the University of Houston with a B.F.A in Studio Painting in 2014. Shortly after graduation Peter received the Juror’s award for the 2014 BIG SHOW at Lawndale. Peter has exhibited his work at several galleries in Houston including the Mariago Collective, Hardy and Nance, The Blaffer Museum and Archway Gallery.
After graduating from college, Peter worked as a custom furniture builder for two years. Despite his artistic interests being primarily 2-Dimension, furniture design and woodworking has been another long-term passion, which is also deeply rooted in a reverence for the beauty of natural materials like wood. Peter taught high school art in HISD for 4 years. In 2018 he began volunteering for The Woods Project, a local non-profit wilderness exploration and education program for disadvantaged students in Houston.
