Proposals from artists that have had solo exhibitions at BOX 13 in the last 2 years will not be accepted.

BOX 13 ArtSpace exhibits experimental works not previously shown in Houston. Proposals are accepted for our three downstairs galleries (Front BOX Gallery, Back BOX Gallery, and Window BOX Gallery) and the Upstairs BOX Gallery for 6-8 week exhibition periods. BOX 13 ArtSpace is 100% volunteer artist-run – we do not have paid staff. Exhibiting artists should be prepared to install their own work or make arrangements with a BOX ArtSpace member or a local to do so in your place. BOX 13 ArtSpace does not have a budget for expenses related to shipping work, purchasing equipment, travel expenses, etc.

Availability: Exhibition cycle dates cover installation, opening reception, regular exhibition hours, and deinstallation dates.

The proposal period is open annually in the summer/fall.

For more information or to make an appointment to view the galleries, please contact us in advance.

Gallery hours are Saturdays, 1–5 PM while exhibitions are on view, or by appointment at box13artspace@gmail.com.

All Exhibition Proposals will be reviewed by a committee of BOX 13 Member Artists. Notifications will be sent roughly a month after the application deadline. Selected exhibitions will be programmed for the following exhibition calendar year.
